    • 39th IndianOil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament : IndianOil Mumbai and Army XI register Victories Jalandhar, Oct 31 :(. ): Eleven times finalist & former champion IndianOil Mumbai beat spirited Punjab Police Jalandhar by 2-1 to register second victory in league stage in Pool A of the 39th edition of the IndianOil Surjit Hockey Tournament, in progress here at local Surjit Hockey Stadium, Burlton Park. In the first match of the day in pool-B, former Army XI beat ASC Bengaluru by 4-2 to earn second win the league stage, With two wins ArmyXI bagged 6 points. In Pool A Match between Indian Oil and Punjab police was played on very fast note. In the 26th minute of the play Punjab police took the lead when their Kanwarjit Singh netted the ball (1-0). In the 29th minute of play Indian Oil Equalized, their Manpreet Singh scored from the pass of Talwinder Singh (1-1). At half time both teams were levelled at 1-1. In the fourth quarter’s 50th minute Indian Oil took the lead with penalty corner conversion by International player Gurjinder Singh (2-1). With this win Indian Oil bagged six points from two outings. In a well contested match of the day in pool-B, in last match of the league, 4 times finalists Army-XI and ASC Jalandhar exhibited good hockey. Supplymen enrned the first penalty corner in 10th minute of the game and Gautam Kumar made no mistake to sound the board to ahead team (1-1). After trailing by a goal, armymen made a counter attack in the very next minute and earned their 2nd penalty corner and Subhash Sanga eqaulise the score on a rebound ball (1-1). In the 20th minute of the game, Gautam Kumar of AsC once again scored a field goal with a solo effort to put his team ahead (2-1). In the 30th minute of the game, once again Subhash Sanga of Army-XI scored a field goal and made the score 2-2. Both the teams were playing at 2-2 at half time.In the third quarter Army’s Pratap Shinde converted the penalty corner in the 39th minute of play (3-2).
