    • Surjit Hockey Coaching Camp- Enthusiasm among children Jalandhar November 18: Surjit Hockey Coaching Camp at Surjit Hockey Stadium Jalandhar is witnessing great enthusiasm among the children. More than 100 players are participating in the coaching camp run by Surjit Hockey Society for the last 58 days. According to Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Secretary, Surjit Hockey Society, the coaching camp was started by Ghansham Thori, President, Surjit Hockey Society, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar and his entire team with 5 players. Today more than 100 hockey players are participating in this coaching camp in view of their fitness, their drug free future and enthusiasm. These players are being coached by experienced Coaches like Olympians Rajinder Singh, Daronacharaya Awardee, Davinder Singh, Avtar Singh Pinka and Yadvinder Singh Johnny. No fee is changed from those who attending for attending the camp and the training is free of cost. Apart from hockey sticks and fruits, soaked almonds are being given to the participants as daily diet to all the participants under 14 and 19 age group, Sandhu added. According to Surinder Singh Bhapa, Director (Training) of Hockey Coaching Camp organised by Surjit Hockey Society that on the completion of 60 days of the ongoing camp, former Indian hockey skipper & Padma Shri Pargat Singh, MLA the President, Hockey Punjab, Olympian Sanjeev Kumar Dang and Olympian Gundeep Kumarb will bless and to know how the tricks of Hockey on November 21 at 7:30 am. Surinder Singh Bhapa further appealed to the people of Jalandhar to send as many of their children as possible to participate in this camp.
