“40th Surjit Hockey Tournament : Spectators to get Alto Car as a prize- DC Sarangal Jalandhar, October 12 ( ): The unveiling ceremony of Alto Car giving away the Maruti Alto Kar Ghund to the spectators of the country's famous 40th Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament was performed today by the Deputy Commissioner of the district Visesh Sarangal. Mr. Vishesh Sarangal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar who is also the President of Surjit Hockey Society, while unveiling the Alto Car ceremony said that under the slogan "Watch Hockey - Win Alto Car other attractive Prizes”, as in the past, this year also Maruti Alto Car will be given as a prize to the spectators who come to witness the 40th IndianOil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament, starting from October 25 here at Surjit Hockey stadium. Mr. Sarangal further said that like the previous years, this time also this car has been sponsored by the local Marwaha Autos owner Mr. Ashu Marwaha. Sarangal further informed that the main reason for giving these big prize to the spectators is to create interest and to attract the general public for our national game of hockey. DC also said that apart from the Maruti Alto car, more exciting prizes like refrigerator, LCD, washing machine etc. will be given to the spectators. The spectators will get daily lucky coupons at every entry gate of Surjit Hockey Stadium each day from October 25 to November 3 while players will be issued lucky coupons on the day of their first match. The draw will be held on the spot immediately after the final match on November 3. For this purpose, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Ram Partap, senior vice president of the society, Sarangal added. On this occasion, Rajan Berry (IndianOil), Iqbal Singh Sandhu(CEO), Ranbir Singh Tut (Secretary), Surinder Singh Bhapa (Gen Secretary), Aditya, IPS, Natha Singh Gakhal, Ram Partap, Randeep Gupta, NPS Judge, Arvinder Singh Kular, Parveen Gupta, Gaurav Aggarwal and others were present.
